Showbiz legend Liza Minnelli is ‘too unwell’ to attend the Tribeca Film Festival screening of a new documentary about her life and legacy, despite being personally asked by festival founder Robert De Niro, a long-time friend.

The documentary titled “Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story” is highly anticipated, featuring exclusive footage from Minnelli’s private archive and interviews with close friends.

The film begins by delving into the profound impact of Minnelli’s mother, Judy Garland, on her life and career.

However, the 78-year-old icon has had to decline the invitation due to her numerous health conditions, which would make the journey from Beverly Hills to New York too challenging.

In April, Minnelli was spotted in California using a wheelchair, highlighting her ongoing health struggles.

Despite her health challenges, Minnelli remains active on social media, teasing fans with news of “spectacular new projects” in the works, including a return to recording music.
